Comment se préparer à l’épreuve d’écoute du Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I (Luisteren) ?
L’épreuve d’écoute (Luisteren) du NT2 Programma I utilise du néerlandais courant de niveau B1, sur le travail, les études et la vie quotidienne. Chaque extrait ne passe qu’une fois, donc impossible de réécouter.
La meilleure façon gratuite de te préparer, c’est d’écouter beaucoup de vrai néerlandais au niveau B1. Un pack gratuit de 99 vidéos B1 t’attend plus bas, à une vitesse proche de l’examen.

Elle a fondé la Dutch Speaking Academy près d’Amsterdam, où elle aide des étrangers qui comprennent bien le néerlandais mais reviennent à l’anglais dès qu’on leur adresse la parole. Plus de 1 000 apprenants ont travaillé avec elle.
D’une professeure de néerlandais
Comment bien se préparer à l’épreuve d’écoute du NT2 Programma I ?
D’abord, sache à quoi t’attendre. Le Luisteren dure 90 minutes et pose une quarantaine de questions sur 5 textes oraux ou plus. Chaque question te propose 3 ou 4 réponses, et une seule est correcte. Tu as environ 25 secondes pour lire une question avant que son extrait démarre, et 1 à 3 des extraits sont de courts clips vidéo. Et chaque extrait ne passe qu’une fois. Le Goethe et le DELF repassent certains extraits, mais cet examen ne le fait jamais, donc il faut tout capter du premier coup.
Donc avant de t’inscrire à l’examen, prends le temps de faire un examen d’entraînement. Les examens officiels sont gratuits et tu peux les faire chez toi, sur ton propre ordinateur. Ça te donne une idée claire du niveau, et ça t’aide à savoir où tu en es.
Entraîne-toi à la vitesse de l’examen, pas à celle d’un podcast
L’écoute de l’examen va assez vite. Il est utile de beaucoup t’entraîner avec les examens d’entraînement et avec de vraies vidéos, et de t’éloigner des podcasts volontairement parlés lentement. Ils sont parfaits pour débuter, mais ils ne prépareront pas ton oreille à la vitesse du test.
Dans les extraits, les gens parlent du travail, des études et de la vie quotidienne à la vitesse qu’ils utiliseraient avec n’importe qui d’autre. C’est du néerlandais normal, et c’est là-dessus que tu dois concentrer ton entraînement.
Choisis des vidéos à ton niveau, avec un peu de défi
Entraîne-toi avec des vidéos à ton niveau, mais choisis-en qui poussent un peu ton écoute. Si tout est facile, tu n’entraînes rien du tout. Si tu ne comprends presque rien, tu ne fais que deviner.
Et si tu peux, entraîne-toi avec un locuteur néerlandais ou un professeur qui te pose des questions sur des détails du contenu que tu travailles. Devoir répondre à quelqu’un t’oblige à écouter bien plus attentivement qu’en solo.
L’exercice d’écoute de 20 secondes
Beaucoup de podcasts et de vidéos ont des sous-titres ou une transcription. Voici comment je les utiliserais. Prends un court passage, d’environ 20 secondes, et travaille-le comme ceci :
Écoute une fois sans regarder le texte. Qu’as-tu retenu ? Quels détails as-tu compris ?
Dis à voix haute ce que tu as entendu, ou fais-toi poser une question précise à ce sujet.
Écoute encore une fois, toujours sans le texte, et vois si ta réponse change.
Écoute une troisième fois en lisant la transcription ou les sous-titres.
Passe au passage suivant et recommence.
Fais ça 30 minutes maximum, puis accorde-toi une pause. Se concentrer aussi fort demande beaucoup d’énergie, alors prends bien soin de toi et n’en fais pas trop. C’est une excellente façon d’entraîner ton écoute et de t’habituer à repérer l’information dont tu as besoin.
Tu peux aussi t’entraîner comme ça dans la vraie vie
Pas besoin d’écran pour ça. Dans le train, en attendant ton café dans ton café préféré, ou quand des gens autour de toi discutent, écoute de la même façon. De quoi ça parle ? Qu’ont-ils décidé ? Tout compte.
Les Néerlandais utilisent beaucoup de mots de remplissage
On dit tout le temps uhm, zeg maar (« genre »), weet je wel (« tu vois »), nou (« bon ») et hoe zal ik het zeggen (« comment dire »). Ça comble le silence pendant qu’on réfléchit, et ça ne veut presque rien dire.
Pour l’examen, concentre-toi sur la bonne réponse. Essaie de filtrer ces mots-là et d’écouter les mots-clés que tu viens de lire dans la question.
Une bonne semaine contient les deux. Regarde du vrai néerlandais à ton niveau la plupart des jours pour habituer ton oreille à la vitesse normale, et fais un examen d’entraînement complet de temps en temps pour que le format ne te réserve aucune surprise le jour J. Aie de la patience avec toi-même, et amuse-toi. Succes !

Pourquoi passe-t-on le Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I ?
Le Programma I atteste un niveau de néerlandais B1. On en a couramment besoin pour :
Étudier au niveau mbo, ou travailler au niveau mbo-3 ou mbo-4
La naturalisation (obtenir la nationalité néerlandaise), pour laquelle le diplôme NT2 au niveau B1 ou B2 compte
L’intégration (inburgering), pour laquelle la B1-route est la voie standard
Tu veux étudier ou travailler au niveau hbo ou à l’université ? Cela demande le B2, alors commence par la page d’écoute du NT2 Programma II.

Voici 99 vidéos courtes de locuteurs natifs au niveau B1, à une vitesse proche de l’examen (environ 200 mots par minute). C’est le néerlandais des Pays-Bas, la variété utilisée à l’examen, pas le néerlandais flamand. La plupart des mots figurent parmi les 97 % de mots parlés les plus courants en Dutch, ce qui correspond au type de langue utilisé dans l’examen. À quoi ressemble le test d’écoute B1 ?
L’épreuve d’écoute (Luisteren) dure 90 minutes et compte une quarantaine de questions à choix multiples sur 5 textes oraux ou plus. Chaque question propose 3 ou 4 réponses, et une seule est correcte. Programma I et Programma II suivent le même format ; seul le niveau du néerlandais change. Voici ce qui t’attend :

Tu as environ 25 secondes pour lire la question et les réponses possibles avant que chaque extrait démarre.
C’est le néerlandais standard des Pays-Bas, parlé à une vitesse normale du quotidien. Beaucoup d’apprenants sont surpris par cette vitesse après les enregistrements lents des manuels.

Quel niveau faut-il, et combien de mots ?
L’écoute demande bien moins de mots que la lecture. Les recherches montrent qu’environ 3 000 mots courants couvrent à peu près 95 % du discours ordinaire, et que les 1 000 premiers mots couvrent l’essentiel de ce que les gens disent.
La vidéo est le moyen le plus simple de comprendre, parce que les images t’aident à deviner le sens. Tu n’as donc pas besoin d’un vocabulaire immense. Il te faut les mots courants et beaucoup de pratique d’écoute à ton niveau.

Comment le pack NT2 Programma I a-t-il été constitué ?
On a fait la recherche à ta place. On analyse des milliers de vidéos en néerlandais et on mesure chacune : son niveau, sa vitesse en mots par minute, et la proportion de mots courants. Pour ce pack, on a retenu des vidéos de niveau B1 en néerlandais standard, à une vitesse proche du test (environ 200 mots par minute), où environ 97 % des mots font partie des plus courants en néerlandais parlé. Ensuite, on a lu les transcriptions à la main pour garder les sujets du quotidien que l’examen utilise, et on a mis en premier les vidéos les plus claires et les plus visuelles. Environ 3 000 mots courants couvrent déjà près de 95 % du discours normal (Nation 2006), donc ce type de contenu correspond bien à l’examen.
Quel type de vidéos regarder pour préparer l’épreuve d’écoute NT2 Programma I ?
Écoute du vrai néerlandais parlé à une vitesse normale du quotidien, dans le néerlandais des Pays-Bas plutôt que flamand. Choisis les thèmes du travail, des études et du quotidien qu’utilise l’examen, comme vie quotidienne, voyages et transports, société et actualité, travail, santé and logement. Les mots rares ne sont pas nécessaires. Environ 3 000 mots courants couvrent la majeure partie du discours normal (Nation 2006), donc le contenu basé sur les mots parlés les plus courants correspond bien à l’examen. Un bon mélange, c’est un court reportage d’actualité, une interview, une conversation du quotidien et une explication claire, car les extraits de l’examen ressemblent à ça. C’est exactement comme ça qu’on a constitué le pack gratuit de 99 vidéos ci-dessus.
L’audio de l’épreuve d’écoute du NT2 passe-t-il une ou deux fois ?
Une seule fois. Dans le Staatsexamen NT2 Luisteren, chaque extrait passe une seule fois, et le son démarre tout seul. D’autres examens, comme le Goethe ou le DELF, repassent certains extraits deux fois, alors ne t’attends pas à une seconde chance ici. La meilleure préparation, c’est de t’entraîner à comprendre un enregistrement dès la première écoute, sans revenir en arrière.
Ai-je besoin du Programma I ou du Programma II ?
Le Programma I est au niveau B1. Il correspond à une étude au niveau mbo et à un travail au niveau mbo-3 ou mbo-4. Le Programma II est au niveau B2 et correspond à une étude ou un travail au niveau hbo ou universitaire. Pour la naturalisation, les deux comptent. Tu n’as pas besoin de réussir le Programma I avant de passer le Programma II.
Le Programma I suffit-il pour la nationalité néerlandaise (naturalisation) ?
Oui. Pour la naturalisation, il faut réussir l’inburgeringsexamen au niveau A2, ou le Staatsexamen NT2 au niveau B1 ou B2. Un diplôme Programma I compte, et comme le B1 est un niveau au-dessus du minimum A2, ce même diplôme prouve aussi un meilleur niveau de néerlandais pour les études et le travail.
Puis-je me préparer gratuitement ?
Oui. L’entraînement gratuit le plus proche de l’examen, c’est l’environnement d’entraînement officiel du NT2, où tu peux essayer de vrais examens pour les deux programmes sur ton ordinateur, y compris le Luisteren. Ensuite, la meilleure chose gratuite que tu puisses faire, c’est d’écouter beaucoup de vrai néerlandais à ton niveau. Commence par les 99 vidéos ci-dessus, ou regarde-en davantage sur YouTube ou ici sur Reelang.
Combien coûte le Staatsexamen NT2 ?
Chaque partie de l’examen coûte 50 €, donc les quatre parties d’un programme complet (lecture, écoute, écriture et expression orale) coûtent 200 € au total. Tu peux passer les parties séparément, et repasser une partie que tu n’as pas réussie.
En quoi la vidéo diffère-t-elle des enregistrements de manuel ?
Les enregistrements de manuel sont souvent lents et très clairs, avec des acteurs qui parlent avec soin. La vraie vidéo utilise une vitesse normale et de vraies voix, ce qui est plus proche de l’examen. Les images t’aident aussi à deviner les mots que tu ne connais pas encore. Dans l’examen NT2, ça compte double : 1 à 3 des extraits de l’examen sont eux-mêmes de courts clips vidéo.
